Set in the beautiful Hertfordshire countryside (located next to Hanbury Manor Marriot Hotel and Country Club) and yet just 40 minutes north of London, the Sow & Pigs is all that you would expect from a true country pub. With its welcoming atmosphere, relaxed surroundings, well cooked food and well-kept real ales, the Sow & Pigs really is a pub for all reasons.
In 1660 recorded as the Five Horse Shoes, the pub received its present name in 1770. Having won the pub in a card game (My Sow's Pigged) the new owner duly re- named the pub Sow & Pigs. A family-friendly pub, the Sow & Pigs has easy disabled access from the accompanying large car park.
